Reporter includes its own workflow action script to use when you want to generate an Excel workbook from your Reporter Layout Builder records. The workflow action, Reporter Create Excel WA, can be used in any workflow and can be used in both scheduled and event based workflows.
The configuration is very similar to the set up used for PDFs. To read more about the different parameters and how they are used, read the chapter Paramater Setup.
Unlike the PDFs, there is no specific workflow action for emailing generated in excel files. However, in workflow you can still send files as attachments either by using the standard Send Email workflow action or by leveraging the Attach Files parameter field available in the Reporter Order PDF workflow action.
In your workflow, start by storing your file in a custom field on your record. Then use one of the above workflow actions to include that file in the email being sent.
